Mary Jane Burgess (1868-1949) and William Copeland (1861-1938) family in Gilmer County, Georgia about 1898.  Mary Jane Burgess is the daughter of John D.M. Burgess and Rachel Mahuldah Clark.  Pictured are their oldest seven children, Georgia, Laura, Ernie, Pleas, Emmett, Bertha and Luther.

Simeon Ellis Burgess Family of Pickens and Greenville Counties, South Carolina  
Simeon Ellis Burgess, the son of Joshua Burgess and Margaret Holeman.  Simeon was born along the South Fork of the Saluda River, where his father had settled.  Simeon's line of the Burgess family has largely remained in this area of western SC through the present.  Photo courtesy of Bernice Hardin, Cleveland, SC.
